This is a delightful little cottage garden which is split into two levels, with a focal archway covered in ‘Blossom Magic’ roses at the bottom of the steps. Its north-facing location lends itself to a wide variety of plantings, and it is packed with roses, mainly in shades of pink. Between these are masses of annuals and perennials including pink foxgloves, dark blue delphiniums, alstroemaria, day lilies, watsonias, begonias, pansies and catmint.
Travel on the N3 towards Johannesburg (from Pietermaritzburg). Off ramp at Nottingham Road. Turn right at the T-junction and follow the R103 to Nottingham Road, passing Fordun spa on the right. Look out for the
entrance to Gowrie Village on the left as you enter Nottingham Road. Follow the signs to the individual
