This garden is at its best in winter due to the large area planted to aloes and succulents. Whilst in bloom these plants attract a number of birds. The garden consists mainly of aloes and indigenous plants. There are still roses & shrubs, which makes for a beautiful contrast.
We on a hill so sadly not all of the garden is wheel chair friendly.
It is a lovely drive out and is well worth the visit. It is around 10km from the centre of Pmb.
From Hilton/Howick take the N3 turning off at the Dr Chota Motala off ramp (old Greytown Road), and turn left at the robot at the top of the offramp and then right at the SECOND robot (opposite the Northway Mall) into Royston Road. At the second intersection (robot) go left into Manning Avenue. Keep going on
Manning which becomes the Bishopstowe Road (Hariette Colenso Rd)and look out for a sign which reads “Shaya Moya” on the right side of the road (green sign with white). A few metres after the sign there is a dirt road to the left. Turn left and go 200 metres then turn right at the row of palm trees which leads to the gate. The distance is about 10km from the centre of Pmb.
There will be refreshments and eats for sale.
