R85 000 RAISED FOR CHARITY!
We are proud to announce 2017’s Open Midlands Gardens raised R85 000 for charity this season! R65000 was collected from ticket sales and an additional R20000 was generously donated by The Harcourts Foundation South Africa. This amount was shared amongst numerous local charities, each one nominated by the gardeners. Andrew Line of Harcourts Hilton commented, “This aspect is an important part of the OMG and we are thrilled with the support received from the public and grateful to the hardworking committee who get this event together, each year. Here’s to the next season!”
Pevensey Place, a home for cerebral palsy and mentally disabled adults in the Drakensberg, received the largest portion at R20 000. Umngeni SPCAand SPCA Mooi River, FreeMe Wildlife Rehabilitation KZN, Khazimula Children’s Home and Dargle Primary School each received R5000. The balance was distributed to an additional 16 charities.
